About

Jules FETA, photographic artist

Photograph by Nicolas Giganto

It all began in Paris, in 1987. A film camera passed down from his father, black and white as his first school, and Brassaï as a distant guide in the back alleys of the capital.

A few years later, the setting shifts: Jules moves to the Pyrénées-Orientales, into a luminous, wild, and generous landscape. This change of scenery transforms his vision. Photography is no longer just about capturing, it's about engaging with the elements : Fire, Water, Earth, and Air. These forces begin to shape his worldview, his way of life, and even his identity: F.E.T.A.

A photography in direct conversation with the elements

From this encounter emerged a creative path — an artistic quest as much as a philosophy. Since then, Jules FETA has roamed these enchanting lands, exploring the landscapes as a witness to nature’s transformations. Drawing closer to the ceaseless movements of the living world his gaze captures the fleeting moment when a reflection becomes a face, when matter becomes image.

A search between reality and imagination

For Jules FETA, the beauty of the world is tangible. It is a universe offered by nature to those who know how to observe. His photographs, both dreamlike and grounded in reality, seek to reveal the face of the elements, inviting us to cross the boundaries of perception and glimpse the extraordinary hidden within the ordinary.
